Joy Over Chaos

This month I painted my first public art mural on the Metro Branch Trail (MBT) located at 336 Randolph Pl. NE, DC. It was sponsored through the NoMaBid.org. I am grateful for this opportunity to grow as an artist. As a DC native, having done this in my hometown makes it even more special to me. My goal was to create a piece that exemplifies joy, resilience and a sense of carefreeness. An act of resistance, to some, within in a city that is the heart of politics seen around the world. Expressing happiness and simply existising while enjoying the little things in life. Reimagining DC as a dreamland of endless possibilities.

When you look deeper into the piece you will see the words "With Brave Wings She Flies" within the kimono style shawl that the first lady is wearing. The second girls earring says "Joy" and the young guy shirt says "Smile."
